I ordered one Philly Cheesesteak and an orange soda, in what appeared to be a set meal. Including sales tax, the total came to $13.33. I asked the cashier if the meal I'd just ordered came with fries, and he just laughed. As I sat down to eat what was sure to be the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich ever, I couldn't help but notice how thin it was. And not only was it expensive (measured as a ratio of price-to-serving), but it tasted dry and was nearly devoid of flavour. Never again.
Never. Again. -

So this location is located in the food court that is closer to the outlets. It is attached to the Nathan's hot dogs.
I make it no secret that I love Philly cheese steaks. So when I saw this place I was pretty excited to try it.
It is similar to Charley's as they cook the food in front of you on a flat top grill. One of the things that surprised me was that they don't offer cheese whiz here. How the hell a place could call themselves South Philly steak and fries and not have cheese whiz is beyond me. In my opinion they should be charged with treason and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I opted to get the large sandwich and fries during my initial visit. The fries are fresh cut here which is a big deal to me.
The meat was cooked to perfection and it was seasoned well. The bread is a little too soft for this type of sandwich in my opinion. The fries were limp, however, they were still pretty good.
While I enjoyed the sandwich and fries I found the portions to be skimpy. I say this because I was friggin still starving afterwards and had to get dessert from Haagen Dazs to take away the hunger pains!!
On my second visit I had their steak bowl. It came with steak, cheese, fries, lto and green peppers. Once again I was starving after finishing it. Normally these things don't bother me but shelling out over $15.00 for food that is just OK and still being hungry I have an issue.
I think that this place is better than some of their competition without a question. I will be back if I'm at sawgrass, however, I'll make sure that I'm only in need of a snack otherwise I'll end up somewhere else. -

I ordered a sandwich today and added bacon. When I noticed that my total was off, I asked the cashier why the amount was so high. I then realized that she double charged me for the bacon. When I asked how much the bacon cost she said $.50 even though it was clearly listed on their menu as $.25. I asked her why she was charging me $.50 she shook her head and said she did not know. I then pointed to the menu board where it said $.25 but she refused to look back. At that point the cook came over and made the price adjustment on the register without saying anything to the cashier or to me. After I paid she still didn't say a word to me. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
as for the food, I didn't even get the option to add lettuce , tomatoes, or even mayo before my sandwich was wrapped up and served to me on a dirty tray. The bread was dry but the steak was good. Definitely a one and done for me. I'll stick with Charley's Grill. -

I work nearby and needed to run out for lunch and thought, why not try the food court at the mall. I ordered the regular cheese steak (Small) and asked to have it made into a SMALL combo with fries and a drink.
Worst food experience in many years. From the tiny sandwich with 1 slice of steak-umm meat, to the overly greasy and limp french fries, to the cashier over charging me and then telling me it's because they don't have small cups, "but I can have a free soda refill," this was just a really bad visit.
If you don't have any small cups, then don't advertise at the register that you have this promotion available. And when you do over charge a customer for this non-service, you should tell them up front.
With so many other options at the food court there, I would suggest spending your money elsewhere. My experience cost me 10.79 and I could have saved money AND gotten better value anywhere else. I have never written a review on Yelp before, but I was not going to let this go unsaid.
The small sandwich, with 1 slice of steak-umm style meat and onions, was pitiful. Finding the meat in the sandwich was like looking for the Loch Ness Monster. I'm sure it was there and there's an old photo somewhere that may have proof. The fries needed Viagra. They were fresh cut and seasoned well enough, but were greasy and limp. I can make the same fries at home and I guarantee you, they will not sag like these things.
The soda was good.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this eatery at all costs.
